Title: Head teacher

Hometown: Ndonyo Wasin

Mother tongue: Samburu

How did you decide to become a teacher?

When I completed secondary school, I volunteered at Seriolipi Primary School for one year in Standard 2.  I started getting concerned and wanted to continue working with the children.  The school was very understaffed, and I realized then I wanted to be a teachers.

Mr. Paul started his official teaching career in 2001 as a Standard 2 teacher.

What do you like best about being a teacher?

It means a lot because you get concerned about your pupils.  Their level of learning and understanding is very different.  It is important to work with students who need more time to understand as well as with the children who are very fast.

What do you like best about being a Head Teacher (principal)?

I am given quite a lot of authority to decide what is best for the school.

Fun Fact:  When Mr. Paul was younger he wanted to be a police officer like his two big brothers.
