Playgrounds

There are about 8,000 people in the Joe Slovo Township; more than half of them are children. Even though there are so many children, there are only two playgrounds in Joe Slovo. When there are no playgrounds, children play with phones, on cars, or in polluted water. Some children decide to play alone on the street or at home.

Playgrounds are important for children because if they are in playgrounds, they do not think about drugs or do crime; they just play and have fun.

We think the government does not feel that playgrounds are important to children because they do not build more of them. To stop kids from doing dangerous things, the best solution is for more playgrounds to be built.

Sometimes, children do not have much to do. Many choose to just relax until the sun goes down. They sit on the grass and tell jokes or stories. They may tell what happened to them, like why they have a scar, why this and that, who and when. - Nwabisa Nake
