The Leaping Lemurs took part in a variety of activities and discussions surrounding diversity during Community in Action (CIA) Day this past week. The Lemurs started CIA Day with an assembly led by Mr. McCauley on intersectionality, in which we talked about our many identifiers. Back in the classroom the Lemurs each received 6 puzzle pieces – each one reflecting a different part of their identity. We then all placed these puzzle pieces together to create one large puzzle.
Throughout these activities the Lemurs thoroughly described their many different identifiers to different members of the Packer community.
Later in the day all second graders played a game of four corners. Teachers and specialists engaged in meaningful discussions with our children.
